India announce 18-man squad for first two Tests against England


India have announced an 18-member squad for the first two Tests against England. Captain Virat Kohli, who is on paternity leave, will be back in the squad which also includes Ishant Sharma and Hardik Pandya. Meanwhile, left-arm spinner Axar Patel has also been called up. It is worth noting that Prithvi Shaw, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and T Natarajan have been excluded from the squad. Hanuma Vihari, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, Navdeep Saini, and Ravindra Jadeja also miss out due to injuries.

Virat Kohli (C), Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Mayank Agarwal, Pujara, Rahane, Pant, Saha, Pandya, KL Rahul, Bumrah, Ishant, Siraj, Thakur, Ashwin, Kuldeep, Washington Sundar and Axar Patel.
