PSL 2021: Unnamed player tests positive for COVID-19 ahead of tournament opener
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Saturday have confirmed that a player from a franchise participating in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021 has returned positive result for the mandatory COVID-19 test. The development comes ahead of the tournament opener between Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators later on Saturday and the player, whose name has not been revealed, has been sent into a quarantine for 10 days.
The Board also confirmed that the player will only be able to rejoin the squad after he returns two negative tests which is in sync with the re-entry protocols applicable to players testing positive for the infection.
