All-rounder Thisara Perera has become the first Sri Lankan to smash six sixes in an over in any form of professional cricket. The southpaw achieved the feat playing for Army Sports Cricket Club in SLC’s Major Clubs tournament on Sunday. Part-time off-spinner Dilhan Cooray, playing for Bloomfield Cricket and Athletic Club, was the bowler at the receiving end of Perara’s power-hitting.

WPL 2023 Live Score and Scorecard

The inaugural season of the Women's Premier League (WPL) has been scheduled to commence from March 4, 2023 and the final match will take place on March 26, 2023 at the Brabourne stadium in Mumbai. The WPL 2023 opener is set to be played between Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. A total of 22 matches will be played between the five teams, including Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Giants, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals and UP Warriorz. All the teams will play eight matches in the league stage, four home and four away games each as the last league match will be played on March 21, 2023 at the Brabourne stadium. The top three teams will qualify for the playoffs as the table toppers directly qualify for the final while the second and the third placed teams will square off in the Eliminator.
