TNPL 2021 - All You Need To Know

TNPL is a professional T20 league that was founded in 2016 by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association .  It is played in the state on Tamil Nadu every year during July and August . There are 8 team representing each 8 districts in Tamil Nadu .  

The eight teams of TNPL are -  

Chepauk Super Gillies

Dindigul Dragons

LYCA Kovai Kings

Salem Spartans

iDream Tiruppur Tamizhans

Ruby Trichy Warriors

Nellai Royal Kings 

Siechem Madurai Panthers

This will be the 5th edition of the TNPL . After getting all the permissions from BCCI  and taking  all the safety measures TNPL  will be started on 19 July and finals will be played on 15 August . All matches will be held at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk, Chennai.Prominent players such as R Ashwin, Washington Sundar and Varun Chakravarthy are part of the squads, but are unlikely to participate due to international commitments.

The eight teams play against each other in the league phase Teams will get two points for each win. At the end of the league stage, top four teams in the points table will qualify for the playoffs.

Glenn Maxwell on Test comeback: 'I don't think I stand anywhere near to it'

  Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell continues to struggles in the purest format of the game and has hinted at his retirement from Test cricket. The 32-year-old is now focused on white-ball formats and has not been able to replicate similar performances in Tests. “I don’t think I stand anywhere near to it”, Maxwell recently quoted on his Test comeback.  Glenn Maxwell understands that one of the main ways to get back into the Australian Test team is to perform in domestic tournaments like the Sheffield Shield.
